Alpine Laurel (Kalmia Microphylla)
Kalmia Microphylla, or more commonly know as Alpine Laurel, is a subshrub shrub with dark green foliage and purple flowers of the genus Kalmia. It has a slow growth rate and a height of 1 feet at maturity. It’s duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It’s active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during late spring, is tolerant of shade and is routinely available commercially. Kalmia Microphylla or Alpine Laurel‘s floral region is North America US Lower 48 and Alaska, specifically in the states of Alaska, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
