Bog Laurel (Kalmia Polifolia)

Kalmia Polifolia, or more commonly know as Bog Laurel, is a shrub with dark green foliage and purple flowers of the genus Kalmia. It has a slow growth rate and a height of 1 feet at maturity. It’s duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. It’s active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during late spring, is tolerant of shade and is routinely available commercially. Kalmia Polifolia or Bog Laurel‘s floral region is North America US Lower 48 and Alaska, specifically in the states of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Wisconsin.
