California Buckthorn (Frangula Californica Ssp. Californica)
Frangula Californica Ssp. Californica, or more commonly known as California Buckthorn, is a tree shrub with green foliage and green flowers of the genus Frangula. It has a rapid growth rate and a height of 5 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. Its active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during mid spring and is intolerant of shade. Frangula Californica Ssp. Californica or California Buckthorn’s floral region is North America US Lower 48 and Hawaii, specifically in the states of California and Hawaii.
