Common Ninebark (Physocarpus Opulifolius)
Physocarpus Opulifolius, or more commonly known as Common Ninebark, is a shrub with green foliage and purple flowers of the genus Physocarpus. It has a slow growth rate and a height of 10 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. Its active growth period is spring and summer, blooms during late spring and is intolerant of shade. Physocarpus Opulifolius or Common Ninebark’s floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont and Wisconsin.
