Common Threesquare (Schoenoplectus Pungens Var. Pungens)

Schoenoplectus Pungens Var. Pungens, or more commonly known as Common Threesquare, is a graminoid (a grass or grasslike plant) with dark green foliage and blue flowers of the genus Schoenoplectus. It has a moderate growth rate and a height of 4.9 feet at maturity. Its duration is perennial which means it will grow year after year. Its active growth period is summer, blooms during late spring and is intolerant of shade. Schoenoplectus Pungens Var. Pungens or Common Threesquare’s floral region is North America US Lower 48, Alaska and Puerto Rico, specifically in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont and Wisconsin.
