Douglas’ Dustymaiden (Chaenactis Douglasii)

Chaenactis Douglasii, or more commonly know as Douglas’ Dustymaiden, is a forb/herb (a forb/herb is a non-woody plant that is not a grass) with green foliage and white flowers of the genus Chaenactis. It has a moderate growth rate and a height of 1.6 feet at maturity. It’s duration is biennial or bi-annual which means it can grow or bloom twice, in the first year and the following year. It’s active growth period is spring summer fall, blooms during early summer, is somewhat tolerant of shade and is routinely available commercially. Chaenactis Douglasii or Douglas’ Dustymaiden‘s floral region is North America US Lower 48, specifically in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
